Time is just ticking by ever so quickly. I've always heard that time flies faster when you get older and now I am experiencing it for myself. Every year has the same amount of months, weeks, days and hours in the day, but why doesn't it feel like I'm in "fast forward" mode? As a kid, I remember waiting for what seemed like FOREVER for my birthday, for school to end, for holidays and such. Now, it seems like they are constantly chasing me!!!Last week was Spring Break for the boys and we really had lots of fun. We visited DinoWorld in the booming town of Plant City and we all had a dino-mite time! Sorry, I couldn't resist! Joseph is quite the Dinosaur expert. He remembered many of the facts that I told him as I read each and every sign to him. I was amazed at his ability to listen and recall information WHEN he wants too! I commented to him that I was impressed that he knew so much and he told me that his brain was his greatest weapon! Seriously, where does he get this stuff?
Grandma and Papa Koziol also came to visit us and the boys were really happy to have them here. Papa especially has learned the way to the boys' hearts---with gummi bears. :)
School is back in session and Jake could not wait to return to see his friends and teachers. He was so excited to bring in his Star Wars guys for Show & Tell.
I've also picked up a second job! Yes, it is my second job because my first job involves running a household filled with munchkins who are kind of like little gremlins. Remember the movie from 1984? My job initially started as a consulting gig in which I was providing staff training for a local restaurant. I really enjoyed it so I decided to stay on board and pick up server shifts once a week. It's fun to be back in the "action" and feels like I have part of my identity back. There's life before kids---where I had favorite shows that were not on the Nickelodeon Channel, where Mac & Cheese was not a part of every meal and when I talked to grown-ups every day. Now, after kids, I feel more like a maid, taxi driver and drill sergeant. Don't get me wrong, I know I am lucky to have the chance to spend as much time with the boys as I do and I do believe they will appreciate one day (at least I hope so! ), but it's just crazy sometimes. It's certainly not perfect, but it's a good life and we're happy. So, I don't know that I would have gone searching for this opportunity, but I feel blessed that it fell into my lap. I hear the laundry calling me so I must go now and continue my work on the mystery of the missing black socks...
