We headed to Chicago last week to visit with the family and had a really nice time! The weather was such a nice change from the Florida heat! It did rain a bit, but we still had lots of fun! Joseph & Jacob enjoyed playing with Abby, Olivia and Adam. I was glad that they had a chance to spend this time together. While we were there, we visited Lincoln Park Zoo, the Shedd Aquarium and a Children's Museum. Jacob even had an early birthday party in celebration of his first birthday! A special thank you to Grandma and Papa for hosting the party and for everyone who came there to be with our family.
Joseph had his first taste of fishing with Papa with a special Spiderman fishing pole that Papa had waiting for him. He was so very excited about this experience! He learned how to cast it into the water and it was so cute to see! He ended up losing his bait (plastic fish tied to the end of the pole), but we assured him that Papa will have it all fixed up for the next time he returns.
Jake showed everyone his ability to walk and how much he loves to eat! He also shared his favorite word, "Da Da" constantly! Seriously, it is adorable, but he needs to learn how to say "Ma Ma"! I may have to withhold the strawberries (his favorite food) from him until he can do it! We also attended a graduation party for John's niece during our visit. It was a great party and the kids enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool at their home. Joseph was having a ball with Uncle John in the pool until he threw up all the fruit he had consumed at dinner. Gross, right? Needless to say, we didn't swim for much longer!
I posted a few pictures from the trip, but the battery on my camera gave out while we were there and I didn't bring the adapter. More to come from Grandma Koziol's camera soon.
Off to Miami in a few days! This is an exciting month with all of our travel plans. Stay tuned for more updates!
