Wow!!! 13.1 --done! Yep, I ran 13.1 miles this week in the Disney Princess Half-Marathon and finished in 2 hours and 36 minutes! For those of you that want specifics, that's about an 11:54 min mile. Not too bad for my first time. It just goes to show you that you can do anything you put your mind to! I'm really grateful to my biggest supporters and coaches, Brian and Lori. You guys are awesome! Thanks for the inspiration, the encouragement and the race goodies too!The Mouse and his team did a fantastic job of organizing the event and keeping it fun! Seriously, it could get a little boring if you just were running with nothing exciting to look at along the way. But, as you may expect at the most magical place on earth, the course was filled with entertainment and some of the most popular Disneyworld residents including Belle, Cinderella, Captain Jack Sparrow, Peter Pan and then some. The fairy godmother did the official countdown when the race began as fireworks lit up the night sky! After all, it was only 6:17am!
My dear friend Christie from our SLU days joined me and it was awesome! What a great memory to add to our collection! :) It was a great race and I'm already thinking about doing it again next year!
As for pictures, I'll consider posting some. Sweaty and stinky don't make for a good photo moment. I do have some shots at the afternoon celebration party that I can post.
I'm out now-
