Hurray for New Teeth!

We have been waiting and waiting for Jacob's teeth to pop out and they finally did! The two bottom front teeth are on their way! Hurray!
The little guy is also very close to walking. He manages to cruise along the furniture really well and reaches out to grab the bookcase in order to get to his next destination. We have been making progress on his bedtime rountine. I am proud to say that we can finally place him in his crib and he'll fall asleep without crying! It only took 21 days---and the experts say 3 or 4 days, right? He doesn't sleep through the night yet because he wakes up and cries FOREVER until you go get him. I realize that it may be best to let him just scream until he gets the message, but it's hard to do when you are so tired and just want peace and quiet! Besides, who needs a grumpy 3 year old to be awakened at 2am? I guess it will work itself out in time!
Joseph is doing well and is currently working towards prizes in his treasure chest for good behavior. He seems excited about it and my hope is that this reward chart will keep him on track. We are using a pirate theme which he thinks is pretty cool!
Last week was a pretty crazy week for us. Jake fell off of his changing table, which was unbelievable because I had strapped him in and I was even standing right next to him. Fortunately, the changing pad (attached to him) may have provided some cushion and prevented it from being a more serious fall. Joseph was being fearless as always and climbed to the top of his bunk bed(without using the ladder, I might add!) and reached for the ceiling fan. He managed to pull the fan so that it was leaning to the right and he turned it on at full speed. Talk about a scary scenario...
I'm getting more used to the braces and am grateful that it hasn't been very painful. It's actually been more of an unusual feeling. The worst part is all of the foods that you have to give up. Thank goodness for ice cream!
Brian and I went to the movies last weekend to see State of Play. Oma and Olivia were in town for a visit and they volunteered to watch the boys so we could enjoy a night out on our own. I thought it was a good story and I was so thrilled to watch something other than an animated show. I did miss having the popcorn!
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you that Joseph participated in a Trike-a-Thon last week at his school to raise money for orphans in Uganda to buy goats. We went to cheer him on and he kept racing around the course like he was Lance Armstrong! The kids were not always going in the right direction, but they had a great time. And, he was worn out! "No Nap Joe" actually took a nap that day!
We're winding down the school year now and I'm starting to think about plans for the summer. How did it go by so quickly? Wow!

Love to all-
