We returned from the Big Easy this afternoon. It was a great trip! As many of you know, I went solo on this travel adventure with the boys and I was a little nervous prior to our departure. All in all, it went really well. Our plane ride to NOLA was uneventful (thank goodness) and we even landed earlier than anticipated. Gotta love it! While there, we visited with the family, spent a day with friends, attended a reunion/picnic and hit some of the main hot spots in the Quarter. Joseph had his first snowball, which I think he loved, but was sick shortly after we got home. I think he had swallowed too much pool water that day. Seriously, it couldn't be the snowball - they are too yummy!
The family picnic (Mom's side of the family) was a success and the cousins enjoyed playing together. Joseph was particularly excited when the 'big' boys (Zack & Hayden) asked him to join them on a walk outside. He was glowing that he could join the club!
We went to the Aquarium of the Americas and loved it! I hadn't been there in many years and the boys were really excited about seeing the animals. Joseph touched a snake and Jake was so thrilled to be roaming around and not confined to the stroller. Everyone was on their toes trying to keep up with the little guy! We finished up the afternoon with beignets at Cafe du Monde.
Our plane ride home today was somewhat difficult due to a tired baby that refused to sleep (yes, it was Stay Awake Jake) and a busybody named Joseph. Nevertheless, we arrived safe and sound. Now, it's time to try to get back to some kind of routine again. This should be fun...
Preschool starting in less than two weeks. We need to go shopping for our supplies soon. Joseph is looking forward to seeing his buddies again. He is even more excited that his birthday is fast approaching!
Look below for a slideshow from the trip. Goodnight all-
