Why Did It Have To Be Snakes?

Ok, so it was only one snake, but it was scary!!! On Sunday afternoon, the boys were chasing each other around the furniture in the family room and having a fun time. Until...
Jake was moving quickly behind the recliner near the drapes, when all of a sudden, I saw something drop from the top of the curtain rod. I started screaming because I thought it was a lizard and I anticipated that it was going to fall right on top of Jake's head. Brian kept asking me why I was screaming because he could not really tell what had happened. I pointed over to the door telling him it was some kind of reptile! He typically takes these statements with a carefree attitude and acts as if I have gone off the deep end for seeing these creatures. He just doesn't get it that most women are freaked out by these type of intruders in the house! Anyway, he quickly went over and realized it was a snake! His sense of urgency kicked in and was able to get him outside and then to the far end of the backyard. There was some hysteria during the process as I managed to pick Jake up quickly and then prevent Joseph from getting to close. It was nearly 2 feet long, brownish in color with a diamond-like pattern. I wish I had gotten a picture of him, but I hope to never see him again! I was really thankful that it did not fall directly on Jake, and couldn't get the scene from replaying over and over in my mind. AHHHH!

Joseph started his first soccer practice today! He has really opened up and is eager to play with the other kids. He did great! I was pretty impressed with the little guy! Pictures will be posted soon.

Jake is so proud of himself and waves to everyone he passes by! He can blow kisses, clap his hands together and is developing a cute (but demanding) little personality.

Oh, did I mention that one of Joseph's teachers told me that he is the social butterfly of the group? Where did he get that trait? I wonder...
