Hi out there! As each day passes, it seems unbelievable that there will be another little person in our home. I know this must sound funny, even to me, as I have this large protruding basketball in front of me. No contractions, just some sharp shooting pains that aren't much fun! We've been getting geared up for his arrival by cleaning and organizing around the house. I don't know if we'll ever be 'completely ready' but I think we're off to a good start. We have the cradle ready for him in our room. In a few weeks, we'll get the guest room converted to his room so each of the boys will have their own space. In a few years, they may want to share the room with the bunk beds and then we can have a fun play area in the other room! We'll have to see how it unfolds. I'm hoping they will become good buddies.
We have two more swimming lessons for Joseph this week. I think he's made progress and it's a good building block for the future.
I've posted Joseph's picture on the Parents Magazine website for the Cover Model photo contest. If you search "Joseph", his photo will appear on the second page. If you click on it, you can see the other two pictures that I posted. Please rate the picture and recommend each of the pictures too! These options are listed on top of each photo.
We've also been looking at outdoor patio sets so we can enjoy the nice view of our backyard. Weather permitting - of course! It's not so enjoyable midday in the 98 degree heat, but it's very peaceful in the early evening hours.
Update on getting Joseph to sleep: it's been much better. I read the advice on the SuperNanny website and so I've been trying this tactic. It involves sitting quietly on the floor in his room while he goes to sleep and gradually moving back towards the door so he doesn't need you there anymore. It's not perfected yet, but it seems a lot less stressful. Several nights, I have even had an opportunity to watch some TV or do something after he's asleep. It really makes a difference when you have some "me" time! He fell asleep early tonight at 8pm, which was wonderful. He was "No Nap Joe" today so it wasn't too tough to get him tucked in at this time.
I think it's time for a late night pregnancy snack. I won't be able to use this excuse much longer!
Have a good one. Stay tuned for more exciting news on our end!
