Rain, Rain --- GO AWAY!!!

We have received so much rain during this past week! I am seriously "over it" at this point. It's pretty difficult to contain two very active boys in the house every afternoon. You can only paint, color, and watch TV so much! These guys need action!!!
The school year is winding down and Joseph's last day is this Friday. I have not yet figured out how I will keep him busy for the summer. He has really enjoyed being in school, although there are still days he is reluctant to go in the morning. I think he feels very comfortable there and is always talking about his friends at school. I'm proud of all of the things that he has learned and am tickled when he sings the songs that he learns from chapel.
Jake is walking all over the place and he is quite proud of himself! He is experiencing more seperation anxiety lately, which I didn't think was possible. I am with him all the time, and if I even leave the room for a minute, he starts crying! I love him, but this is driving me nuts!!!
He is an eating machine. I know I have mentioned this before, but it is something to see. This child loves to try new things and his favorite food is strawberries. He is a big fan of chicken fries too! At the moment, Joseph is on a chocolate chip muffin craze.
We took them to buy new shoes yesterday afternoon and that was an adventure! Jake came home with a nice pair of sandals for his chubby little foot and Joseph chose a blue/orange GEOX pair. However, when we got home, he mentioned that they were feeling a little tight. I looked at the tag inside the shoe and discovered that they were the same size as his old shoes. Ugh! No wonder why they were tight. The other tag on the shoe reflected a bigger size. Yes, he did try them on in the store but I think he must have just been so excited to have them on his feet. So, we made the trip back to Nordstrom today to return them. They were out of the style we had bought, so he selected another pair that lights up! He was so happy! The manager switched them out for us and even gave the new ones to us at the sale price of the ones we had originally purchased. I love that store for their great service!
We spent this afternoon with friends at Nancy's house and had a great time. The kids (Sophie, Joseph, Jake, Nicholaus, Kamryn & Riley) all played together really well and had a blast with Kristine's husband, James. Good food, good fun and good times! Gotta love it...
Happy Memorial Day to everyone! A heartfelt thank you to all those who protect our country and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Hugs!
