We're Back!

Hello there! We just got back from our trip this afternoon and so I thought it was time to provide everyone with an update! Joseph and I had a very nice time visiting with our family this past week. He was so excited when the plane was taking off! We visited the Audubon Zoo with Pop Pop and Memare early in the week. Be sure to check out the picture of Joseph standing next to the cut-out of the bear. It was really great! He climbed down the famous "monkey hill" and had fun playing in the mud and the water. He's definitely "all-boy!" We also had a chance to have dinner with Ferd, Linda, Ellen & Will. We went on a few walks with Noah & Lili (the doggies) and got to ride in the "Wiggle Car!" Well, not really, but... For those of you not familiar with the Wiggles, they drive a Big Red Car. Coincidentally, Pop Pop's convertible looks a lot like their car!
Later in the week, we took Joseph to meet up with Oma & Opa for pictures at Longvue Gardens. Joseph and his new little cousin, Emma, were the subjects. Joseph looked absolutely adorable but he was more interested in throwing rocks in the garden than having his picture taken. I'm eager to see how they turn out. After the photo shoot, we visited Bracato's for Italian gelato. This is a very well-know spot in New Orleans that has been around for 100 years. Joseph normally chooses vanilla, but he opted for green mint this time. I wasn't sure if he was going to like it, but he ate it all.
We celebrated Lauren's birthday on Thursday evening and it was terrific to see the rest of the family. If I mentioned everyone at the dinner, it may take a while! Many aunts and uncles and cousins joined us. On Friday, we went for a short walk in the forest near Oma's house, played outside for a while and went to see Romeo and Cinnamon. Romeo and Cinnamon are two horses that belong to my brother Kenny's in-laws. Joseph also got to see Opa's police truck with the lights and the sirens. He also had fun talking on the speaker too! We wrapped up the night with pizza and a showing of Finding Nemo.
The last picture is of Joseph having some fun with bubbles in Oma's tub. It was hysterical. I have never seen so many suds in my life. He had a blast!
Unfortunately, Joseph woke up this morning with a fever and I believe he may be getting his 2nd year molars. He is certainly not himself. I'm hoping a little rest will make him feel better. He finally fell asleep a few minutes ago, after a very long day of traveling. I think he really missed Brian and told me he was ready to go back home.
I would have posted more pictures, but I dropped the camera and now it is not working properly. I can view the pictures that I have taken, but am unable to take any new ones.
So, that's the latest and greatest news over here. Catch up with you later!
