Checking in... today was another doctor visit to check on our growing baby. His/her heartbeat was going strong at 147. Another 3 pounds gained since the last visit, making it a total of 5 pounds thus far. I will hit the 17-week mark this Saturday and I have received the authorization from the doctor to make an appointment for the next ultrasound! She said that this could be done within the next 2 or 3 weeks. The anticipation is growing... will it be a boy or a girl?
We've spent the rest of the day getting ready for our Mardi Gras party (with the Mom's group) tomorrow at the park. Hopefully, the weather will be nice and sunny. We've got masks for the kids, purple/green/gold cupcakes and the "second line" music!
I've started feeling much better and just am a little more tired than normal. Our little Joseph is going through some sort of phase right now as far as bedtime is concerned. It's been nearly 2 hours each night spent trying to get him to sleep. We've exhausted many different techniques, been doing lots of reading but he is one tough cookie. Honestly, I don't know how he does it. You can clearly see that he is tired but he is determined to stay awake. I think he would like to be up until 2 a.m. if we let him!
