We're Back!

Hi there everyone! We just returned from our beach getaway in Sanibel with Brian's family. We really had a great time, although the weather was not what we had in mind! We rang in 2008 there, but I must admit we were asleep by 9:30p.m.! Pathetic, right? Then, there was a cold front that hit and it was actually 36 degrees! No need for shorts or swimsuits in that weather. Joseph had lots of fun playing with Abby & Olivia. We took a trip to a children's museum and also visited the Ding Darling Wildlife Center. I would say the funniest moment may have been when half the island lost power. Now, I know this doesn't sound particularly funny, but we had been having some trouble with the high speed modem they provided and our laptops. Earlier in the day, the breaker blew when we were blowdrying our hair. Well, John decided to plug the modem and the laptop in the same outlet (which they had instructed us not to do). In all fairness, I don't think he got that info ahead of time! After a few minutes, the lights flickered a couple of times and then went out. We thought it was just our condo, but looked outside and everything was dark! We got in the car to see what else was happening and it appeared that much of the island was in the same situation! We had a good laugh thinking that it was John that caused this unfortunate event. All in all, we ended up at Dairy Queen and so it really wasn't that bad of an evening!
The weather warmed up on Friday and we decided to go on a bike ride around the island and then stopped at the library. It was a fun way to spend the afternoon. By Friday evening, I had come down with a relapse of my cold from November. Sore throat, stuffy nose and that crummy feeling. I hear stuffy noses are quite common during pregnancy. I cannot wait until July for this little one to arrive. This time around seems alot more challenging than the first time with Joseph.
Today was a perfect beach day. The kids played in the sand and then did some swimming in the pool. We headed back home this afternoon and will be getting back to our routine tomorrow. Pictures to be up tomorrow!
