No More Pacifiers!!!

Is this a major achievement or what? I can tell you that it has NOT been easy, but we are on Day 2 without them. Well, we actually do have them but they have been cut so they have a large open hole at the end of the nipple part. Joseph is definitely saddened by this recent development. We've told him that he sucked them for so long that they just wore out. It's not so bad during the day, but bedtime is pretty rough. Most of you know that he liked to have one in his mouth and one to stroke his cheek. I think he was comforted by this, especially if he was upset. I must say that it is so nice not to spend half the day looking for "red or orange", which of course, were the names given to his favorite paci's.
As for Jake, he is a really good little baby. The only thing that is somewhat disturbing is changing his diaper. I cannot, repeat cannot, change a diaper without one of us (him or me) getting covered with pee or more poop. Seriously, it's ridiculous. He was gradually looking a little yellow day by day, so we took him to the doctor today to have him tested for jaundice. The doctor said he thought that is was relatively minor case. We do have to return on Thursday for another blood test.
I had a follow-up appointment with my doctor yesterday and everything seems to be good. I need to continue to take it easy (if this is possible with a son who is definitely in the Terrible Two's) for another 5 weeks or so.
Well, time to feed the baby and ease into the rest of the night. I'm hoping to get to bed earlier tonite. Bye!
