It's hard to believe our little Jacob is two weeks old today! He is absolutely wonderful and I feel very lucky to have such a content, happy and healthy baby. Time sure does fly by quickly, although there are many days that seem to be endless with the number of feedings and diaper changes. Do you think they would let me return to the hospital to rest? :)
This morning, I am up at this awful hour to feed the baby. However, it is never just feeding the baby. After he's fed, it's time to change the diaper, which ultimately leads to a new wardrobe change too. The sheets also needed to be changed due to a leaking diaper. Once that was all cleaned up, I collected everything and brought it to the laundry room only to find another friend of Kermit (yes, a frog) in the house. This place is like the Animal Kingdom. There were two frogs in here yesterday and now this one. I chased it around and finally was able to trap him under a bucket. I didn't want to hurt him, but I did want him gone. He lost the battle and ultimately ended up in the trash. So, now I am awake but should return to bed to try to get some rest before the everyone else wakes up! We have to take Jacob to see the doctor for a 2 week checkup today and then we'll probably be doing things around the house.
I've been trying to snap a few pictures of him with his eyes open, but haven't been very successful. It's a short window of time during the day when he is fully alert and awake. I'm going to keep trying! I added one more picture of him sleeping - look below this post.
Happy Monday! I'll be in touch later!
