Well, our road trip was quite an adventure! We left on Sunday for Louisiana to visit with our family and friends. We left Orlando in our new minivan with Andre, Chrissy, Claire and Zack. After about 2 hours, we stopped at McDonald's for lunch and it was no ordinary experience. Joseph had to go potty so we ventured into the restroom. Well, he's a little guy and it's a big toilet, so he slipped and fell in the potty! You can imagine my hysteria, particulary because I am so paranoid about germs and unsanitary practices. Ugh. We got him soaped up, changed and back to the table. Then it was Jake's turn for a diaper change. He kept it interesting by spraying Oma during the process. Needless to say, eating took only about 10 minutes but we ended up being at McDonald's for an hour! The rest of the trip was fine just a bit long with these small little fellows. We made it in about 12 hours.
The rest of the week has passed quickly. Joseph has been swimming every day- he's going to turn into a fish! He's having lots of fun with all the kids. We've visited with Christie and Annette and her little boys too! It's pretty hot here and there's been heavy storms the last few days. Playing in the puddles at Pop Pop & MeMare's house was lots of fun. Today, we're having a BBQ with more of the family at Oma's house. More swimming too!
We're going to be heading back home soon. I'll keep you updated on the road trip home. Brian's been in California visiting several of his company's wineries. I think he's had a very productive and fun time on this "work trip". Yes, I am jealous. Sounds like a pretty good time to me: drinking wine, dining out and sleeping through the night!
I have lots more pictures to post. Have a great weekend!
P.S. Happy Birthday Lori! We hope you have a wonderful day. See you soon-
