Yes, I'm Still Here!

Hi there!
Boy, the last week has been very busy and exhausting! We had a terrific weekend at Saratoga Springs celebrating Brian's birthday. We had dinner at Planet Hollywood and we were treated like celebrities. Brian has a friend that is the GM there. They gave us a great table, t-shirts for the boys and even picked up the check! What a nice birthday surprise! :) Brian also racked up on some really nice gifts too! Fortunately, the rain held out until the evenings so we managed to squeeze in some time at the pool. We had dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings too but Joseph did not like the place at all. When we walked in, he said, "this place stinks, let's get out of here!" He was serious and not trying to be funny. However, it was quite comical. We ate quickly because he was literally falling asleep at the table. This never happens with "No Nap Joe" so we were shocked.
Joseph returned to preschool this week and for the most part, it is going well. The morning drop-off is not easy because he is sad to see us go. He cries a bit and wants you to stay with him. He has become good buddies with the director because she is the person who comes to comfort him during his time of sadness. She mentioned several times that he is fine within minutes of our departure. Here's something to make a Mom proud - Yesterday, when I went to pick him up, I arrived a few minutes early and had time to talk with Kathy (director). She told me that they read books together and that he was just so cute. She also told me that he did great when they went to the Chapel and talked with the Pastor. Apparently, the Pastor asked the children questions and our little Joseph was happy to provide the answers. I am so curious as to what the questions were! He didn't elaborate! Then, she said that if she could adopt just one child in her preschool, it would be Joseph. She just adores him! How cute is that? I suppose he is a charmer, right?
Now, here's another funny thing that happened. Kathy mentioned that Joseph loves Miss Sara. I inquired as to who Miss Sara was and she said that Sara was the teacher this week. I asked what had happened to his teacher, the one that I met initially and that was there last week. Over the weekend, she quit! So, they are looking for someone to fill her position. I didn't really have a good vibe about her when I first met her, so I think my motherly instinct was right-on. I was giving her more time to see how she would do and if I would feel differently, but she has moved on. I hope the replacement will be the right fit. Miss Sara has to return to her original class, but the vibe in the class is so much better with her already! It's not that the other teacher was bad or unfriendly, she simply didn't seem fully engaged in her position and really excited to be with the kids.
Well, I should consider going to bed before little Jake wakes up for his next feeding. He is definitely a hungry little guy. I'll be taking him to the doctor on Friday for his 2 month checkup. I can hardly wait to see how much he weighs! He also has a serious case of 'Arm-itis' and is furious when you put him down. He is absolutely precious, which makes it tolerable! He is smiling alot in the morning and it's too cute!
Be back soon!
